At only age 18, Jordan Elsass is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood’s sought after actors. Elsass stars in Hulu’s upcoming drama miniseries opposite of Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon, as Trip Richardson, in the new series, Little Fires Everywhere. Based on the novel by the same name, the series tells the story of the picture-perfect Richardson family. Taking place in an Ohio suburb, the story is one of the secrets, motherhood, and scandal. Elsass is also currently in production on Amazon’s upcoming Young Adult series, Panic, and as well as preparing to go into production on The CW’s new series, Superman & Lois, in which he will star as Jonathan Kent, one of the twin sons of Lois and Clark.

Were you able to take any of the experiences or lessons learned from growing up into the set of Little Fires Everywhere?
My mom has always taught me to be kind and friendly to everyone, and I hope I brought that to set with me. It was easy because truly, everyone was just so wonderful, cast and crew alike. I also strive to be professional and prepared, and again, the cast and crew were all of these things, so the tone was set early.
How would you say you connect with your character, Trip, on the show?
One of our similarities is that we both love food and eat a lot. When the set PAs such as Ryland, Gabi, Greg or Alex needed me, they always know where to look first: the crafty tent. I LOVED all of the wonderful food available on set! Both Trip and I are extremely easygoing, with no drama, and we both love to mess with people and joke around. In my family, humor abounds and we rib each other a lot which brings me to another similarity, which is that we both love our ‘respective families.
Little Fires is advertised everywhere and is a major show. Can we expect to see you in more projects in the future?
One project I hope to wrap up very soon when the restrictions are lifted is the Amazon Studios show “Panic” based on the young adult novel of the same name by Lauren Oliver. We only have two weeks left of filming, and I hope to get back to it very soon! This summer, I expect production to begin for “Superman and Lois”, which will air on the CW, in which I will play Jonathan Kent, son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
