It’s Young, it’s Loud, it’s Versace a variety of prints and colors can look like a hot mess but last night during Milan Fashion Week Donatella Versace showed the audience how chic it could be. The Italian brand presented the Clans of Versace Fall/Winter2018 collection on Friday (Feb. 23) at the Royal Palace in Milan. Models started the show by rocking styles that would connect with younger viewers and younger costumers. The wardrobe included elements of punk and Teddy Boys styles combined with a touch of varsity. Women were layered in multicolored plaid and were accessorized with contrasting colored scarves and berets. Later in the show, Versace showed off fashion-forward dresses that resembled a work of art. Sleeves were mismatched. They were splattered with more contrasting colors, covered in geometric patterns and detailed with beads and tassels. That’s a lot for a dress but Versace was able to pull it off. Aside from the outfits, Versace was big on accessories. There were lots of gold coins bearing the face of Donatella. Models wore gold-coined necklaces, earrings, and they appeared on gold chains of purses. Other accessories were tassel earrings and belt buckles.
