90th Oscars Annual Academy Awards

Tonight, Hollywood celebrated the 90 th Annual Academy Awards Ceremonies. The Oscars
demonstrated diversity through speeches as well as social issues.
Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue was about Harvey Weinstein allegations and made it into a joke. He continued with, “The world is watching us. We need to set an example. And the truth is if we are successful here, if we can work together to stop sexual harassment in the workplace, if we can do that, women will only have to deal with harassment all the time in every other place they go.” The first Oscar award was presented to Sam Rockwell for best supporting role in the film “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”.
The film also received awards for acting categories which are best actress, lead performance, and best supporting actress. Best Actress winner, Frances McDormand asked every women nominee to stand during her acceptance speech.
Disney Pixar film “Coco” Won for best animated feature award and its soundtrack “Remember
me” won for best original song. Kobe Bryant received an award for animated short category, “Dear Basketball”. The film, “The Shape of Water” received 13 nominations and Mexican filmmaker Guillermo delToro won for best director and best picture.
