March 11, 2018
Winter is coming to an end and Los Angeles is getting ready to showcase the new Fall/Winter
collection.
Last LAFW 2017, included designers Vicken Dederian, Grayscale, Hardeman, Sav Noir and
Candice Cuoco x Vanessa Simmons.
Designer Vicken Dederian collaborated with Kyung Hwa Kim. Their collection was inspired by
Women in flight. The designers used female empowerment through their silhouettes, shapes and
textures. They created oversized knits, draping garments, and asymmetrical designs. The colors
ranged from light tones to dark tones, such as blue and burgundy.
Texan native Khala Jones collection was inspired by her hometown. Her collection Grayscale
expresses self-love. Her line included mesh skirts, jackets, satin bottoms and tops.
Laurel Dewitt amazed the crowed with her metallic bohemian apparel, creative head pieces and
accessories. The designer showcased chained dresses, faux knot chain bandeau, and fringe capes.
Dewitt made a feminist statement through her line.
Candice Cuoco x Vanessa Simmons worked on the “Bad Butterfly” collection. The designers
garments used floral and butterfly patterns. The models were different shapes and sizes. One
model wore a shirt with the slogan “Filthy Feminist” and models wore boots and denim jackets
to personify a woman with attitude.
Lets see what new surprises LAFW has in store this coming week!
