“God’s Plan” has retained the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 10 weeks since it’s release. This makes Drake the first solo male artist to have not one, but two 10 week runs at No. 1 in a lead role. “One Dance” featuring Wizkid and Kyla became Drizzy’s first song to rule the Hot 100 list in 2016 and “God’s Plan” could run longer than 10 weeks.
According to Billboard, “God’s Plan” is the first song by a male soloist to reach this type of success since Elton John and Diddy who each made the achievement in 1997. Drake is now the sixth artist to reach No. 1 twice in a lead role.
But the rapper isn’t taking a break from work yet. Through his Instagram story, he shared a photo with the caption, “You can see the album hours under my eyes.”
